What’s the latest news about your productions?
It’s been a very busy summer with gigs so I was on a bit of a break from studio, but this fall/winter I find my way back in to finish a few projects I’m really excited about. 2013 is looking to be a good one!
What has been going on gig-wise with you this summer?
There’s been so many memorable gigs this summer, from ASOT550 Den Bosch, to EDC Vegas, to big dates at Avalon (Giant) and Exchange LA, Marquee Dayclub LV, to debuts in San Jose, NYC and more. It’s been a blast and an honor!
You had a little scuff with an airliner? What happened? And which airliner would you recommend as a touring DJ?
Haha yeah, that was um… interesting! Coming back from a gig, our flight attendant was being a bully, and when I stood up to him he didn’t really like it so decided to cause problems for my flight. It’s all good, in the end I was awarded a handful of free flights for the trouble. All’s well that ends well 🙂
Name the most inspiring person you ever met backstage and tell us why this person has inspired you?
Probably Stephen Jenkins from Third Eye Blind. I’ve been a massive fan of the band since they formed and getting to chat in person with the genius writer of so many of my favorite songs was super cool. Coincidentally, it was the first time I ever went to Las Vegas, after they invited me and my friend to go on to the next show with them there. Quite an experience!
Can EDM ever be underground again?
Sure, it still is even right now! There’s always a sub-genre/culture in EDM. Just like hip-hop, no matter how commercialized it gets, there’s always someone doing something edgy and “underground”.
Your prediction for the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll?
No predictions really. I’m personally not a big fan of the system. No other genre of music does it.
Are you a secret fan of Drum & Bass?
No, not a secret fan haha but I can definitely appreciate a good DnB track. It’s just not my thing in large doses.
Earlier this year you played ASOT 550 in Holland. How was that experience?
Really great experience! A massive festival, entirely trance-focused, was quite a sight to see and an honor to play and be a part of! I felt really fortunate they brought me over from the US for the big finale and hope to do it again next year 🙂 Definitely one of my favorite memories of 2012.
The DJ life can take a toll on your body. What do you do to stay healthy and fit?
To be honest, not much lol! I’m bad… :p
Is there a final thing you would like to say to our readers?
Thanks for reading and I hope to see you on the dancefloor at a show real soon! Stop by my social networks and pick up some downloads and say hello 🙂
