Each track reflects on personal and imagined histories, exploring the struggles of coming to terms with the past. Created in the stillness of rural Scotland, far from the chaos of urban life, the album captures the reflective space afforded by this shift. The result is a haunting and emotive collection of songs, shaped by resurfacing feelings and events from artist Robyn McIntosh’s formative years. With artwork symbolizing the untamed and inescapable nature of memory, Memory Shapes is both a raw confrontation with the past and a tender embrace of its impact.

Moth Traps is the evocative solo project of Robyn McIntosh, a musician rooted in rural Scotland after journeys through Brighton, London, and Glasgow. Formed in 2019, Moth Traps explores the liminal spaces between urban grit and untamed nature, drawing inspiration from the imposing landscapes around him and echoes of city life. Formerly the lead vocalist of Brighton band The Happiness, McIntosh’s creative rebirth followed years of struggle in the music industry and a move away from the city. With albums like Truth Maps (2021) and Atrophy Myths (2023), Moth Traps creates dense sonic soundscapes where growth and decay collide. The forthcoming album, Memory Shapes (2025), continues this exploration, delivering music that is as introspective as it is boundary-pushing.

A sonic experience that challenges the boundaries of conventional music, leaving you in a state of both wonder and bewilderment.Electronica
