The Truth is a testament to Matthew Holden’s lifelong passion for electronic music and his meticulous craft. Having poured a year into perfecting this record, Matthew has sculpted a sound that captures the energy of the rave scene that shaped his youth. Influenced by the sounds of trance, techno, drum & bass, and house, he’s channeled decades of experience into a single that’s as emotive as it is explosive. “I only play keys by ear”, Matthew shares, “but my time DJing in clubs since age 15 on Technics helped me visualize the dancefloor reaction while creating this track”.
A Birmingham-based melodic house and techno producer born in Bristol, Matthew Holden’s journey into music production began five years ago after meeting acclaimed producer Ben Stancombe. Despite running a full-time Wealth Management company and raising a young family, Matthew’s dedication to his craft never wavered. With mentorship from industry heavyweights like Jason Herd and Jon Kong, and a tight-knit network of fellow producers, he honed his skills to create The Truth. The track’s polished sheen comes courtesy of mixing and mastering engineer Joel Woolf, whose expertise elevated the record to its full potential.
Matthew’s roots in the electronic music scene run deep. From his early days as a lighting designer for iconic UK venues and festivals like Creamfields, Gatecrasher, GodsKitchen, and The Que Club in Birmingham, to mastering beatmatching on vinyl as a teenage DJ, his connection to the dance music world has always been deep and intense. “I’ve lived and breathed the electronic music scene for years”, Matthew reflects, and now I’m ready to release my own melodic bangers to the world.
